The BEST Glass Cleaner....

As a business owner, I am always looking for not only a more readily available option, but one that provides the best quality results a product can produce. Whether it is an interior cleaner or as today's topic suggests...

Glass Cleaner!

Now, I have tried MANY different cleaners, from Meguiars to Dollar Store brands.

And they all bare the same problem... Streaky windows!

With a bit of research and help from fellow detailers in the industry, I was given an age old secret remedy to perfectly crystal clear and streak-free windows..

90% Isopropyl Alcohol...

Most people have this in their medicine cabinets for cleaning/treating wounds or disinfecting surfaces in their home. Yet, not many people realize what is can also be used for, is their car windows and windshields.

Simply fill an empty and clean spray bottle with about 1/3 Alcohol and the rest with water. (The key is to have more water than alcohol in the mixture, as too much alcohol will cause streaks.)

Now that you have the proper solution.. How do you go about creating streak free windows EVERY time?

Simple.

  1. Get a clean and dry microfiber style towel. There are many different types, my personal favorites are these blue waffle-weave style towels I purchase from The Rag Company.

2. Each towel has 4 clean sides if used properly, you will want to fold these towels into the same style that these are pictured.

3. Using that solution we mixed, you will spray onto the window lightly, less is more and normally only takes 2-3 sprays to truly get the window wet enough to begin cleaning, but not soaked enough to ruin anything.

4. Using the towel, buff the glass in a vertical type pattern, making sure to flip and fold the towel over onto itself once the side you are using becomes saturated.

5. Do a final wipe and buff to ensure no streaks or debris are left behind and viola, clean and clear glass!

Bonus Tip: To ensure proper streak-free cleaning, be sure to wash these glass towels separately from any other towels you may use.

Only wash these with a cap full of vinegar, no soap, in a washer with cool water. Regular tumble dry is fine, do not add dryer sheets or any additives to these.

And just like that, you will be able to see and enjoy clean & clear windows!
